As a child, I loved art. I was always the one hovering over a coloring book and just plain loved being creative. Through my teenage years I took a few art classes in school, but was never what you would call formally trained. People tried to talk me into pursuing art as a career, but I just didn't want to spend several more years in school. Knowing that I needed a job and trade of some kind, I opted for cosmetology school and was a hair dresser for a couple years before I decided "this was not for me". I worked a few other odds and end jobs and found myself working at a health club. This afforded me a unique opportunity. I had started sketching again and showed some of my pieces to people around the club. One thing led to another and pretty soon I was being commissioned to sketch pieces and I couldn't have been happier. This, I said to myself, is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I have had the good fortune to have worked with some wonderful people who have helped me get the word out about my business. Pets are my work and my world. As the owner of two "fur-babies", I understand just how important they are to our lives and our well being. My work gives me a great sense of accomplishment and is so rewarding that I will never tire of hearing how my sketches have made someone happy. I truly love what I do and I think that shows in every piece I create.
